What is NexGard?

NexGard is a veterinary antiparasitic medication intended exclusively for dogs. It is available as a palatable chewable tablet, making daily administration much easier. Dosage

• Blue: for dogs weighing 4.6 to 10.9 kg

• Red: for dogs weighing 27.3 to 54.4 kg

Each tablet contains a precise amount of afoxolaner adapted to the indicated weight range. Tablets should not be split, and a presentation that does not match the dog’s current weight should not be used. Your veterinarian will determine the appropriate strength at the time of prescription.

How and how often should I give NexGard to my pet?

NexGard is administered orally as a chewable tablet. Thanks to its palatable flavour, it is generally well accepted by most dogs, either given directly as a treat or mixed with a small amount of food.
The dosing frequency is monthly. One tablet should be given once per month to maintain continuous protection against fleas and ticks. It is recommended to administer NexGard on the same date each month to avoid missed doses and ensure consistent parasite coverage.
NexGard may be given with or without food. However, it is advisable to follow your veterinarian’s instructions, especially if your dog has underlying health conditions or is receiving other medications.

What are the side effects and precautions associated with NexGard?
